Building Better Communities in Senegal, Africa

The Damel Foundation in Oakland, CA is a nonprofit organization that was founded as a platform to give back to the native communities in Senegal, Africa. After 3 years of starting the amazing journey of The Damel restaurants, our founders are determined to take action about what they think are some of the biggest problems that many people are facing in Senegal. They wanted to create a positive social impact through different community projects, such as:

Playground Parks in Disadvantaged Communities

Millions of children watch their lives of diversion and entertainment sink under a sea of lack of possibilities to do so. These accumulated natural energies that come with us after we are born and creating muscles need to be burned and expand by learning, playing, dancing, and, of course, laughing.​

Hospitality and Culinary School

The Damel Foundation is planning to create a hospitality and culinary school with full access to international experience standards. We will handpick teenagers that will qualify to participate based on their performances at school. We want to make sure they know that the priority is their school.

Descent Kitchen

​We could not do anything without our heroic moms. They are leaders, fighters, and best friends. But most importantly, they are creative, very creative! Especially in the kitchen where they take as little as a dollar and make the entire family secure their meals for the day.
